YOUNG IVORIAN LEADERS FOR IMPACT
Privacy Policy
YILI member app. Effective October 9, 2026.
The YILI member app is a private app for members of Young Ivorian Leaders for Impact (YILI), a nonprofit organization. YILI runs the app. This page explains what the app keeps about you, why, and what you can do about it. Questions: contact@weareyili.org.
What the app keeps
- Your profile: name, phone number, email address, the photo you add (if any), your language (English or French), and the membership tier you declared and when.
- Your place in YILI: the committees you belong to or said you are interested in, and any officer role you hold.
- Meetings and activities: your answers to meeting invitations (yes, no, maybe), your check-ins at meetings, and your participation in committee activities. YILI uses these to apply the attendance rules in its Constitution and Bylaws.
- Dues: dues recorded for you, with the year, amount, date, how they were paid (for example Donorbox or Zelle) and a payment reference. The app does not take payments.
- Tasks: tasks assigned to you, their due dates and whether they are done.
- Elections: candidacies and the speeches you submit, and nominations.
- Polls: your answer to each poll, kept with your account so you can answer only once.
- Feedback and ideas: feedback and ideas you send in the app, kept with your name. Feedback sent through the anonymous feedback page keeps only the text and the day.
- Notifications: a device token so your phone can receive the app's notifications, your text and WhatsApp preferences, and a log of reminders and messages YILI sent you.
Your vote stays secret
When you vote in an election, the app records only that you voted in that round, so you cannot vote twice. Your choice is added to a running count for each candidate, kept separately with no link to you and no time stamp. No one, officers included, can see how you voted. Poll results are shown only as totals, never with names.
How you sign in
- Phone code: you receive a one-time code by text message. The code is sent by Twilio Verify, so your phone number is shared with Twilio for that purpose.
- Microsoft: you can sign in with your YILI Microsoft account (weareyili.org).
- Personal link: YILI may text you a personal link to a meeting page. The app keeps only a scrambled form of the link, and it expires.
Who can see it
- Officers who run YILI can see the member records they need to run meetings, dues, tasks and elections.
- Your name, and your photo if you add one, can be shown to other members in the app, for example next to a candidacy or a task.
- Your photo is stored at a web address that is not listed anywhere, but anyone who has that address can open it.
Where it is kept
The app's data, sign-in and files are hosted by Supabase. Text-message codes go through Twilio. iPhone notifications go through Apple's push notification service. The member web page is hosted by Netlify.
What the app does not do
- No advertising.
- No tracking or analytics tools.
- YILI does not sell or rent your information.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account in the app under Settings. This removes your sign-in and takes you off the member list. Records of meetings, dues and elections that already took place stay in YILI's records, and so does the record of anyone who held an officer role. To ask YILI to erase the details that remain, or to correct anything, email contact@weareyili.org.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
Text messages
YILI sends announcement texts only to its own members, about YILI business: meeting dates, election reminders, dues reminders and announcements from the secretary. Messages come from +1 855-340-0997. Mobile phone numbers and text messaging consent are never shared with, sold to, or rented to third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes. Reply STOP to any YILI text to stop receiving them, or HELP for help. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Consent is not a condition of membership or any donation. Details: Text messages from YILI. The words staff use when asking for consent: SMS consent.
